Christopher McElroy grew up in the shadow of Clinch Mountain in Abingdon, Virginia.
His lifelong Craft journey began at the Penland School of Crafts where he studied glassblowing with Sally Prasch, Scientific-Flameworker Extraordinaire, and Emilio Santini, a World-Renowned Venetian Flameworker.
After completing his BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, he migrated westward and in 2005 built his own Studio in Missoula, Montana. There he made tableware & sculpture for his own label, and fabricated complex glass projects for designers and artists around the world.
Since moving to Hudson, NY in 2016 McElroy has focused primarily on blowing traditional and contemporary forms in clear glass and glass colored by gold & silver fume.
